This is what Duke is capable of! Why Duke Why? May 25, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This 2001 Motogp review has great picture quality and actually gives us 8 to 12 minutes of footage per race which really gives the viewer a sense of story and tension. That's all we ask as customers who can't see these races live and look forward to these dvd reviews every year. Well Duke, your 2003 thru 2006 review DVDs have fallen way short of basic expectations and are terrible to watch! We don't care about the exotic countrysides and landscapes, we care about the damn races! If you gave us 10 minutes of race footage per race instead of annoying and utterly confusing 5 minute snippetts we could accept your love of showing the global beauty of the hosting countries. Are you selling Motogp or are you a travel agent? Please revert back to your 2001 ways and show the public what a great sport this is. We want drama and a storyline and that takes more than 5 minutes a race to convey. The 2001 review does all this and that is why it is THE Motogp review to buy. Rent the others and sit there in disgust when you ask, " what is happening in this race, er, oh it's over, Next! Do it right or don't do it at all. 5 minutes a race, good grief!
If you buy one MotoGP review, this should be it February 16, 2005 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
The debut year for Duke reviews on DVD is also far and away the best. It had a very interesting grid, from the not-yet-crowned Valentino Rossi to the still-competitive Garry McCoy.
The commentary by Keith Huewen and Julian Ryder is the best of the I've heard (through 1989) in broadcast or a recording. Huewen and Ryder have a great rapport, and the ad-libs are brilliant.
The race coverage and editing is high-quality: races are given an appropriate amount of time to unfold and the tension builds to the climax at Phillip Island, probably the best GP race ever. The last laps of a GP race have rarely seen such a numerous and aggressive mob as PI in 2001.
