We bought this DVD for our four year old son as a Christmas present and it's been the best purchase ever. I highly recommend this video if your child has any kind of interest in big trucks. Our son became really interested in construction vehicles about a year ago. He has all of the DVDs from Fred Levine's littlehardhats.com collection, which are also high recommended. When we watched the video together for the first time, I started having second thoughts as the trucks depicted are not construction trucks, rather, they are giant mining dump trucks and drag lines. But our son loved it and continues to ask for it.
Other reviews mention how great the music is. I can't say that I think it's "that" great or original...but our son does sing/hum it while he plays with his trucks.
This video is educational and fun to watch. I recommend it highly!
 Real Trucks - Real Fun September 18, 2007
This is a great DVD-- The first time my son actually sat still for longer than 15 minutes. He was and still is in awe of all the trucks and construction equipment. This is one you won't mind watching/listening to over and over again.

I should first say that I am not a mother and I do not have small children. However, I have always been fascinated by children's programming that cleverly and simultaneously caters to the attention of adults.
I purchased this DVD for a toddler friend of ours who knows more about different types of trucks and machinery than the average adult. The many positive reviews on Amazon, along with the Grammy-winning songwriter involved in this video, led me to think this DVD would be something the adults in this house would enjoy watching as much as their child. I was so disappointed to hear that the "I Dig Dirt" song was simply "Frere Jacques" with different words, and I was surprised that there are only a couple of trucks/machines covered in this DVD.
Even adults like this June 27, 2007
This is interesting both for an young child and adult. We sing along with the music and the words to the songs, on the screen, help with word recognition. But the gigantic diggers and trucks working in those mines fascinate kids. Really worth going through the promo at the beginning.

I would recommend this video to anyone that has a little boy. The machines are amazing. As a parent it's a fun video because the magnitude of the diggers is pretty facinating. Plus - he now sings the song whenever he sees a digger of any sort. It's Barney with testosterone.
